Military Valentine Minis

2013 is here!!!!  Tonya Winters Photography along with other local photographers are teaming up to give you a "Little Love" to start your New Year off right!

We have come together to put a Special Valentine Photo Session together for your loved one who is deployed.

Once you have registered at, twintersphotography@yahoo.com, Tonya will contact you via e-mail with 24 hours with your time slot. If a confirmation is not received back within 24hrs your time slot will be reassigned to someone else and you will be placed on a waiting list.

Upon registration please include the names and ages of everyone who will be taking part in the session.

PUPPY LOVE- Kenneth W. Bernard Community Park, Lansing, KS

This is Randi and her adorable pups!  Butter, the Black Lab, and Caramel, the Golden Retriever.  Randi is an officer in the U.S. Army. She and I met while she was stationed in Hawaii and we played on the same soccer team.  Go KRUSHERS!!!!  While in Hawaii, Randi knew that she would be TDY a lot (that just means traveling, for you civilian folk), so Butter stayed on the Mainland with Randi's father.  In August, Randi reported to Fort Leavenworth to attend a school for Army Majors, tons of fun!!!  She picked up Butter in North Carolina and they headed to Kansas. After getting settled in KS she decided to add to her family and along came Caramel!!!!!  Any photographer that works with animals knows the shot is going to be challenging, working with two, well we just laughed our way through it!  Thank You, Randi, Butter, and Caramel, for letting me photograph you!

 


 

Jones Family- St. Mary's College, Leavenworth, KS

 

 

This is the Jones Family!  Brittany contacted me about an OPERATION PRIDE Session before her husband Kaleb deployed to GTMO, Cuba. We walked all over the beautiful campus of St. Mary's college here in Leavenworth, KS. We captured some cute images of her sweet little boys, some Awesome pics of her and Kaleb together and who could forget Chi-Chi the Monkey!

Brittany, I hope you and the boys are doing well while Kaleb is away. Kaleb, hope you are staying safe and are home soon!

Chewbacca...The Chocolate Lab

 

 

This is Chewbacca, aka Chewy, our 4 months old Chocolate Lab.

I love taking pictures of him. He has the sweetest face!

He is also 100% puppy!!!!!!

 

 

 

 

 

Here's my excuses.....

WHOA!!!!  How do I even start this blog today?  First off, let me dig myself out of this huge hole and dust myself off.  You see...what happen was....well...

1. I'm a WIFE & a MOMMY!!!!!  Being a photographer takes a lot of time away from family. Either you're out shooting , behind the computer editing away, marketing your business, or educating yourself to keep up with all the other photographers out there.  I wasn't willing to take the time away from my daughter and husband.

2. VACATION... Trips to Oklahoma to spend time with family (we have been in Hawaii for the past 3 years and didn't see them a lot) and a trip to Florida to catch up with old friends. Again, the IMPORTANT things in life!!!!!

3. Now I'm READY!!!!! My little one started Kindergarten yesterday(sigh) and now I have the time to play catch up on my blog.

First up is the BEAUTIFUL KARYLE HORN.  Karyle is the daughter of a high school friend. I was soooooo EXCITED when Amy ask me to come photograph her daughter on her way to her Jr. Prom.  Check out this BEAUTY IN PINK!!!!!! Karlye will be starting her SR. year next week. I'm sure Amy is taking a BIG SIGH too!!!!

TWP's Litte Hero-May

Here she is, Briar Scott! I just love her name.  Briar is TWP's Little Hero for the month of May. Briar is a true Daddy's girl to U.S. Army Soldier, Jeff Scott stationd with HHC 705th MP Co., here at Fort Leavenworth.  Before joining the Army 2 years ago, Jeff spent 8 1/2 years in the Navy.  Like many military children, Briar struggles with all this "Army Stuff"....training, schools, and unaccopanied tours. Also, like many military children, she has been strong through it all and has adapted to where ever her family may move to or go through next. 

It only took Briar a few minutes to warm up to me and my camera. Then, she became a photographers dream!!!!  We also got lucky that Dad stopped by the shoot on his way home from work. We were able to grab him and take a few shots of him and his girl together. 

After talking with Briar only a few minutes I could tell that she was as sweet on the inside as she was pretty on the outside!  She enjoys all sorts of activities like: swiminng, gymnastics, baseball and girl scouts, just to name a few. Briar is in the 1st grade and being homeschooled by her mother Dee.

  Briar, it was my pleasure to have you be my Little Hero feature this month.  Continue to love and support your Daddy, watch over your Mommy, and turn to God to get you through this crazy life as an Army Brat!!!!!
